Help ICS Update- brightness?

Ever since the ICS update I haven't been able to adjust the brightness from the home screen.. you know how you slide the top at the notifications bar? Its just not working anymore and it was quite convienent. Anybody else having this issue? I did the factory reset and everything.

I just recieved my phone in brand new in the mail yesterday.. did the ICS update and I dont have the screen brightness option up top anymore either.. only wifi, bluetooh, gps, airplane mode and screen rotation.. its the update not our phones
