Help ICS update killed Voice Talk

Lurker
Since the ics update my voice talk crashes the phone. Every time I put it into the car cradle it tries to load and auto reboots.

Anyone have any ideas? How can I wipe this thing and start over with ics?

ok so I updated my note (finally) but now voice talk does not work. When I open the app the screen goes blank and nothing happens . Also I've restarted it ,and still nothing also there have been a few times(3) that I've had to remove the battery. Did I do something wrong? Please PLease. Give me some advice. Thanks . I am thinking of calling Samsung.

hmm - it works for me. No problem at all. I hope some the this forum's expert will chime in to let you know if it is possible for you to re-install ICS.

don't mean to pimp you're thread but I just posted the same ?? I have had to remove the battery to get my note to work. We might be the only two to experience this problem because no one has answered you yet, hope fully we will get it resolved. GOOD LUCK....

I don't use it, but I just tested it to see and can say I do not experience any problems, force closes, etc. It's working fine without a hitch.

Question for all of you experiencing problems. Did you do a clean install or just updated it right on top of GB? Or after the install, did you accidentally restore some system files? That can easily gum up any OS from the get go.

I did clean install of the update (ie. a hard wipe, update and another hard wipe after that). So far I have not experienced any problems yet. I'm actually surprised at how responsive it is now. It's definitely a little quicker than GB.

Try a hard wipe back to factory defaults and see if that fixes anything.

I fixed it by doing an emergency firmware recovery via kies back to factory settings. I lost everything on the phone setting wise but now it works as it should again.

BTW I had just installed over GB and I did not restore any data the first time.

It's what I thought. Everyone who's reporting a problem seem to be from users who did a straight install over GB and not a clean install. That can cause issues as there can be old system files that were not cleaned out and gumming things up from the get go. I did a clean install and have not experienced any problems with ICS.

Anyone experiencing problems should hard wipe their devices back to factory defaults as that should clean it up. But it will wipe all data off the phone. So ensure you have proper backups prior to doing this. And don't back up any system files or you will run into problems.
