Hi All,
Well i have had my ICS update at last. Connected it up on Monday and Kies said there was a new firmware. Clicked OK and it downloaded some stuff and said "Unknown error"
.
Tried it again and it said my battery was too low (42%). Put it on charge and waited for it to reach 80% (I know - couldn't wait any longer
). As soon as I reconnected to Kies it did the upgrade - took about 25 mins start to finish.
I've been using it for 3 days now and I have to say I am pleased with the upgrade. It seems to run faster and smoother and there is lots more control over things in settings. I have noticed no real difference in battery, if anything I seem to get longer especially on standby! I bought my Note in April and deliberately haven't downloaded too many apps so I think what others have pointed out about "rogue" apps (or those that need an update to be compatible with ics) causing the battery drain may be correct. Although I don't use phone and text that much my Wi-Fi is always on but Bluetooth is off unless I need it.
Cheers all, JCH
