In Sweden an unbranded 7" chinese android 2.1 tablet is sold bu several chains for1500Sek, roughly 130 Euro or Usd 200 - but pricing is always higher in small country Sweden ;-) It has a dual core 600Mhz processor an 8Gb internsl memory, sd card slot an wifi. NO bluetooth or gps :-( Also, only "AndAppStore" is offered as app source.
Since it's actually going on a one day sale tomorrow, I'll get one. Tryed it out today;it teethered ok with my htc desire, and surfing was ok - so anything more I will consider bonus ;-)
Does the thing go by some name in forums? Oh yeah, it's got a flimsy photo-frame like stand that folds out on the back - presumably for film viewing. (Or maybee the chinese actually are hilariously self ironic, suggesting best use as digital photo frame:-D
Can I transfer programs from my desire? Especially, I would like to install a payed for database app. Maybe I could mail the programmer of the database? Somehow actually get the real Android market? Could I overclock it? Would rooting be fun? Will it ever be possible to upgrade the os? (likeliehood of custom rom?)
In any case, I would enjoy shared experience nd ideas!
