If android didn't exist what phone would you get?

If Android weren't around, I'd likely either be sticking with Windows Mobile (which would still be of the 6.1/6.5 variant as MS would have less push for a complete redesign), or more likely go with an iPhone <shudder> purely for the simple and effective UI.

Luckily though, Android is around! :D

i'd probially get a samsung phone with windows mobile on it. i used to be a windows user until android came out and i found out how shitty microsoft is with their windows 7 "starter"

I'd still have my LG VX8300. Yeah... kept that for nearly 4 years. Honestly I never saw a reason to do anything other than text and make calls on a phone until now.

Now I'm addicted, I'll never go back to a dumbphone!

I'd probably have the Palm Pre, and I'd hate the small screen after awhile.

Such a great OS needs a better device and quality apps behind it.

I'm not sure what I would have gotten.

When I went into the store last March, I was offered a BB but since there was some recent bad feelings with it (short version: Mom had a BB. Software issue that was completely unique. Replacement would have used up her one handset. Bell gave us the crappiest customer service ever.) I'm not sure if I would have bowed down to that or not. I couldn't afford the iPhone but I needed something that would allow me to text like crazy - most of my friends are out of town so calling them would be disaster.

The only thing I did know was that I *needed* a new phone because my Rumour was shutting off randomly - if I wasn't so paranoid I might not have noticed. My dad's very sick and I could be called at any time to drive him into the hospital and so I need a phone with me wherever I go.

I would never go with a smartphone/pda without a keyboard. During the palmos days I got a Sony TG-50 and I didn't bother learning graffiti. PalmOS could've been 'android' if they didn't screw up with the licensing and kept up with the times.
But it had a lot of apps and whenever I think of apps that should be on android, I think of the palmos apps.

Not wanting to switch from Verizon, I'd likely have a BlackBerry or a Palm Pixi. I was considering both when my contract was almost up, but I'm glad I decided to get the Incredible :)

i would call google and tell them to create an amazing os and call it android.
then i would convince bill gates to assassinate steve jobs and i would watch google rise to the top.

or i would just get a palm pre
