i have an updated htc desire to 1.19.161.5 on vodafone uk and i would like to know if and how can i do this things
- extract the rom... do a copy of it
- emulate the rom on PC (windows, linux or mac os x)...i work on a hackintosh (10.5.8)
- cumstomize the rom, edit it, change the graphics and so on
- flash the customized rom back on the phone

To extract the ROM, I would assume you would need root access and a custom recovery image. Have you got this?

If not, check out the android.modaco.com/forum they may be better placed to help you.

i wpuld like to refrase...i would like to dump my current desire rom into a img file on my computer
i do not have a rooted phone...it is as i first got it
