Help if i back up contacts with google, can i remove vzw backup assistant?

I was just wondering if I am backing my contacts up to Google - is there really any need for the VZW backup assistant? Does it perform any other beneficial services?

I am rooted and any Verizon software I can remove makes my phone a better phone imho.

I would recommend getting Titanium Backup and FREEZING any apps you don't want, rather than completely uninstalling them (you can do that too with this app though). When you update ROM's through verizon, it will not update unless you have all of these original apps loaded, so you can make it simple and just "unfreeze" them.

Of course, if you are going to SBF or load a custom ROM eventually, it doesn't matter!
