I have to admit, being able to get ice cream on the photon without waiting on Motorola would be hot as hell!

I wouldn't be too sure because the way Motorola is doing it is it is letting the carrier decide whether the phone will be unlocked or not - so essentially it's Sprint's decision.

I had posted this info in another thread on here. It's not really that important to me, but I know it is for a lot of the Android community, so if Sprint and Motorola were smart and wanting this phone to really take off, unlocking the bootloader from day 1 would be a good way to make that happen.

Even if Sprint and Motorola do not do this, I have alot of faith in the development community to get it done.
