So by switching the contacts to google, they will be saved by google?

There is an app called export contacts. It will create a csv export of your contacts and save it to your SD card. You can then mount your phone to your computer and import the csv to google account. I also heard their is a duplicate removal tool in google that will eliminate duplicated entries so that when you sync your phone it will update them correctly.

with regard to "phone" contacts

back them up using a back up program that saves as a .csv

import that csv to your google account online (on your computer)

delete all your contacts in the phone, and sync you contacts from google.

I'm mostly interested in the overall responsiveness of the phone and the dialer. Does it take forever to answer and hang up a call? Does the phone seem any snappier in general?

The dialer does not lag at all and it doesn't take forever to hangup or answer a call. In general, the phone seems a lot snappier. The animations/eye candy is more fluid. The phone just runs better in my opinion.

From what I understand, there was supposed to be, but there is no voice to text key in the regular keyboard for texting?
This along with navigation was the main reason I really wanted the update.
If its not there, I guess I have to dl some keyboard app.

I can't give you an exact number but my original call log from call history is intact. Yesterday, I ordered a pizza from a place that I ordered from several months ago and the number was still in the history so it goes pretty far back.

no, no, and no.

This. However, there is a setting for text-to-speech in the main settings menu. To get it to work, it wants to "Install Voice Data (install voice data required for speech synthesis)."

Op, may I suggest that you keep updating your original post with a list of confirmed OTAer's with the info they provide in order to keep this thread organized. Or maybe even a poll? Maybe with just "Got OTA on 1.5" or "2.1 v 3" as options?

I have actually decided to do just that so that we can see a rolling list of the OTA and where about in the country it is getting sent out. That was the original Idea of this thread but the giddiness of the upgrade have some hijacking threads! LOL Thanks for the idea on the updated list!

Ok lets make this easy, If you have recieved the OTA update post the date and approximate time you got it and your approximate location in the Country. DO NOT POST CHIT CHAT!!! Lets keep this on topic and use it as a visual tool to see where the OTA Update is getting pushed to. I am interested in what parts of the country are getting it and when! Ok lets play!!!

I am still waiting on the upgrade....and I am still on 1.5 (haven't rooted or flashed any 2.x).

Figured that this is at least close to staying on topic, although i wont reply again until i get the ota update.
