If you use your Inc as an alarm clock...

Hey guys I did a quick search in the forums, but didn't find this app mentioned, so I appologize if this this is old news...

I use my Inc as my alarm clock since I got it back in June, but I hadn't really looked for a new alarm clock app until last night. The one I ended up downloading is "Good Morning" by Flywheel. It's pretty cool because you can set ringtones/songs to wake up to as well as annoucing the time, weather and a personalized messsage/reminder that it will read to you as you wake up. So far it seems pretty flexible and it's free. There is a paid key that will add Google calender entries.

You can find it on both the market and on appbrain.

i use mine as a bedside clock and alarm. all the third party clock apps i tried like to keep the 4 buttons lit up which is too bright and annoying, so i just stick with the stock clock.
 
Alarm Klock- Nice big snooze button in the middle of the screen. I recommend trying several to see what suites you best. This is the best I've come across. Very customizable.
 
I use Math Alarm Clock. It makes you solve math problems before snoozing or dismissing the alarm. It gets your brain thinking so you don't fall back asleep.

Yup that is one feature it is missing, but I noticed in the feedback there were alot of requests to add the feature so myabe they update soon. Looks like there are a number of requests for mltiple alarms too.

I use mine as a bedside clock too. I just use the "night" feature on the stock clock also.

I have been thinking about using a third-party app for my alarms, and this one does sound very cool. What I've done so far is copy (actually, I create them again manually, without their existing file content) the media folder structure which the HTC clock widget accesses in the hidden /system folder (you can see this through Astro and ES File Explorer, but there's no write access). This enables alarms to be set with mp3's, which you copy to the sdcard/media/audio/alarms folder, but when you copy the files from your music folder, you then create storage-wasting duplicates of your music tracks (I tried to use shortcuts instead, but Android ignored them)! This is why I'm wondering, can the third-party apps actually eliminate the duplication?
 
Kaloer clock is extremely customizable. Can customize fade in time for your custom ringtone/song. Automatically make it so you wont be bothered while sleeping except by your alarm or special contacts you set. It can speak shit like the others do too. Multiple color skins for the desk clock. Good shit

I was a big Kaloer fan until the last update and it started force closing all the time. Bedside has all the same features that Kaloer does. Even though the fonts can be "customized" I still like the font of the stock alarm clock the best. The digital numbers look more authentic IMO.
 
I use Alarm Clock Plus as well, doing a math problem is a pretty good way to wake yourself up. I like V1 better, it gave me more options for the alarm sound (I tried V2).
 
I use Alarm Klock. has been 100% reliable and it slowly and softly get louder so it doesn't make me jump out of bed.

Having to do a math problem at 6am sounds like the worst kind of torture I could imagine. I'm so not a morning person and neither is my wife. If I had to do a math problem before it would shut off my wife would kill me. Even with coffee I'm not awake until like 10am.
 
I use mine as an alarm clock like I do with all my phones. I just need something basic, so I haven't searched for any apps.

Heh :o...Ended up late for work though the first morning after I used it...because idiot me didn't think to add the clock to the ignore list on my Task Manager which is set to set kill all running apps when the screen goes to sleep.

Just thought I'd throw that out there for anyone else who happens to be new to Android as well. ;) I learned the hard way.
