If your battery drains overnight.

I really don't understand this obsession with getting the longest possible time out of your battery
I hope you don't think i'm speaking out of turn but:
When are you ever away from a power source for more than say 6 hours?
Why don't you just leave the phone plugged in at night?
Do you ACTUALLY use your phones or are you that obsessed with making the battery last that you daren't?
Tasker, I like the concept of the phone adapting to your routine, but once it is set up, if you deviate from that routine, you might as well not have bothered.
Let me explain, if your daily commute involves a car journey at 08:30 until 09:00 on weekdays, then yes it's cool that the bluetooth makes itself available without having to think about it. Now lets assume that you are delayed and at 09:00hrs you are still 10 mins away from your destination, you will have to manually turn bluetooth back on. I don't know many people who have such a metronomic lifestyle that they wouldn't need to constantly tweek their phone if using tasker.
I'd rather turn stuff off and on when I need them, it's not hard really is it. Go into a meeting, put phone on silent, long press on volume rocker, 5 seconds, done. Reckon it takes longer to programme tasker ;)
Anyway, slightly off on a tangent there..... what's with the obsession about longest battery life ;)

See my other post...surely there must be some app which would allow tailorable consumption states for various uses?

eg for each application allow to have a setup for optimal power consumption. And also for each dormant state have another setup; eg idle with screen on or off, each would allow you to set CPU rate, wifi onoff, call monitoring onoff, bluetooth onoff, celldata on off, etc etc. Perhaps it exist, but thats another gripe - how to really find apps on the appstor; search facility there is pretty hopeless :-) - otherwise all is GOOD with my note... loving it to bits - 1st android phone for me :-)

I "enjoy" all that stuff, but I don't worry about how quick the battery is discharging, if it gets down to 15%, it beeps and I plug it in..... simples :D

Sometimes I may catch myself wondering why some days the battery seems to run out of charge quicker than other days but that's about it. An example would be my daily drive into work. If I don't plug it into the charger, some days it will use 10% of its charge just sitting in the cradle, not doing anything obvious, other days it will use 1%. THat's without making or recieving any calls or texts.
I assume that there is some background activity going on but who knows. I'm more interested in finding out what is draining my battery rather than trying to get the battery to last longer.
The inbuilt battery monitor is not very specific and I don't really trust it as it can have different readings for identical actions.

It's been like that for months and I don't loose sleep over it. If I happen across an app that will tell me specifically what is using the power, then great, if not, I'll live with it :D
