If your phone heats up using wifi:

Solution: When using your phone as an access point (i.e. wifi tethering) place it on top of an ice bag or an ice pack to keep it cool and functioning properly. This also helps it to charge faster an more completely. Do not place it in a way that it could get wet.

I'll also note that I was once using the Eris for Navigation on a fairly hot summer day, running rooted Cyanogen ELB (which is a 2.1 based, CM5 ROM), and the poor Eris was nearly blistering hot. Once I realized that, I had the AC in the car on full blast with the Eris sitting in the cup holder just in front of two AC vents, both pointing right at the Eris.

Good times...

Ok , Scary, game on, now you got my mind going, anf I do have a spare battery cover right here>>>>, and some copper sheet out in the garage/\/\/\, and a couple of dremels (do a bit of gunsmithing too), and some copper tubing for a heatpipe over there <<<<<<<, (now if I can just remember where I put that little water cooling rig from the old P1 Puter )...

LOL, yeah, I was a little disappointed there weren't some more extreme mods / heat-sinks that I thought a few of the guys were talking about doing.

DId I mention that I used to hang out at the AOA forums.....

Wow, I had to Google that...looks pretty intense. I'll have to let my son know about that site, if he hasn't seen it already.

I'll be curious to see what you might come up with :).

Cheers and good luck!
