But seriously tho... I ASSURE you nobody is holding out on you just because they want money... LG locked this phone up tight... The delay is because LG hates us.
 
Welp, I sent a short and sweet e-mail to LG support asking for a bootloader unlock tool....it's highly unlikely that it will happen....but it only took like 2 minutes of my time, so not big deal...

It's unlikely they will ever do that........LG is cheap and they love their money....even if it means no devs allowed on the phone..which I really think is a minus for the company and the user.
 
$5 likely isn't going to draw much interest. But if you wanted to create a bounty thread and have others pledge you may get a sizable sum

yeah i know...which is why i only spent 2 minutes on it....

also, i like confusing tech support people who are reading scripts...it's fun...and i can predict that i will have fun with people in call centers with this one

but yeah...bounties are unlikely to actually get paid out...

best bet is to have a trustworthy middle man that will hold the pledged monies until it happens...but that is also unlikely....

I've donated to dev's on here before and i've already sent out a PM to someone about donating...

you best bet is to pay /some/ money beforehand...so that they can get enough to possibly purchase a tester phone...so that they are not using their personal device to test out on....recovery can f--k your phone up if you mess it up (i know this from personal experience) and they are more than likely to get it done faster....but at the same time....developing custom Android stuff is not a day job for these people...it's what they do in their free time...so it's not going to be taken care of in a couple days...and like PG says, if he had $1 per download he would be rich by now....so think about that next time you're downloading something for your phone...
 
Man, if I had a dollar per download I'd be rich too :D
I ported some roms and rebuilt some optimus v firmware...thousands of downloads...no donations for the rebuilt firmware, and I'm not gonna ask for donations on ported roms....that's just wrong IMO.

If you know of a recovery that would work on the Motion, I think I know of another way to flash it where the bootloader won't go and kill the phone....I need someone who is willing to risk a phone to test it though....

i have been notified that hroark is also doing testing, and is obviously being quiet about it...so if you're going to send out donations send 'em that way as well...

that is a very bad idea. the bootloader is checking hash values of the images, it isnt a matter of flashing them in any certain way. taking teh stock recovery unpacking it and repacking it will result in the same thing as flashing a test cwm build.

Just hit the report button and make a report. You can even do this with pm's
