Root I'm back

Newbie
Hi again. I've had my droid x stock for a year now. Since I converted it back, PROBLEMS GALORE!!!! Called verizon, told out of warranty SOL!!! It keeps rebooting at random times, and my red led is constantly on. I was thinking maybe rooting might help. System version is 4.5.605.mb810 running andriod 2.3.3 . any thoughts?

rooting doesnt fix these issues, installing a rom would more than likely fix this issue, the droid x is a monster of a phone, and can withstand a lot of punishment, the red led is my main focus... what does it mean? led app? bad battery? battery not charged? thats what im most concerned with right now, your random reboots are not that big of a deal, what that red light means has me wondering. but regardless a ROM is something you would want, i promise, the first sticky is the one you want

DO NOT ACCEPT THE OTA TO .621!!

Is your battery holding a charge? The following is from a Motorola help forum.

The DROID X handset has a notification light near the top of the phone.
It is used to provide silent notification and gives several colored alerts.

These are the standard ones for DROID X

Blinking Green: You will have a blinking green notification light whenever your screen is off and you have a notification (Email, Text, Voicemail, Missed call) in your notification bar that has not been cleared.
Blue: You can an incoming call.
Red: Your battery is low.
Solid Green: when the battery is low/dead, insert USB/Charging cable will turn on the green LED to show sign of life. The LED will turn off when the battery is charged enough to power up the phone

There are several Marketplace applications available that will turn the notification LED various colors including and beyond the colors on this list depending on the function it is used for. You will need to refer to those marketplace applications for support of their notification light colors.

Do you have a stock Motorola battery? I bought a couple of cheapo batteries on eBay. They don't affect the LED but with one the notification battery doesn't work, with the other notification goes from full to empty in about an hour but the battery stays on 10% for 8 more hours. Droid X doesn't like non Moto batteries.

BTW: You could try AdjBrightness to turn off the low battery function. Just remember this doesn't FIX the issue, just mask it.
