Help I'm in deep doo doo - Help

I recently bought a Bionic off eBay. It was in great shape and came with the 893 update. I don't know much about the history of this phone so here is where I stand right now:

I downloaded the 901 update and applied it. I lost 4G completely and now when I power down, it comes up in fast boot screen. Battery pull and then boot up in the recovery mode allows me to boot the phone up for 3G use only.

What I would like help with is:

flash back as far as I can to be able to rid the system of the 901 update. If this requires flashing to original 886? to 893 would be fine. If I have to do this, I would need a link to the original 886 rom and then a link to the OTA 893 ( unless flashing 886 offers me the OTA)

I have RDLite 5.6 and am familiar with booting from SD card so which ever solution is offered, I think I can do this.

 Many thanks in advance!!!!!

The best thing to do is flash 5.5.893 FXZ file from here. http://androidforums.com/bionic-all-things-root/480176-how-flash-5-5-893-rsdlite.html

Since you were on .901 you might get a cdt error. If you do go here unbrick your bionic and follow the steps for .901 cdt.bin file in the op. You will need fastboot for this

Thanks all for your help and suggestions. I tried a couple but got no where so I spoke with Motorola service and explained my problems and they acted like they had heard it before; especially as it is related to the 901 update.

They asked that I send it in for warranty repair and I did so today. Will update when I get it back as to the version number and other changes.:(

Well, it's 2/20 and Motorola repair has had my Bionic since 1/24. After 15 working days and no response, I began to try and get some help through the website and through the service center. As of this morning, I have heard nothing back as to the status of this repair.

I spoke with Pablo, Service supervisor, on 2/16 and he promised he would get back to me but nothing. Does anyone here work for Motorola or know another contact point to see what the hell is going on? I would appreciate any help.

Forum's are seldom a good point of contact for a manufacturer such as Motorola.... instead they are a place that other users get together to help each other with issues ( and to chat or gossip )...

So don't expect to hear back on your query... and very lucky if you do.

Call them every day for a week - if that gets you nothing, start calling them every hour starting the next week.

Be polite, but firm - they have your phone. Their update hosed your phone. You paid good money for a phone that you cannot use and that they have. You want both your phone back and recompense for the time they have had it.

Above all, do not lose your cool. 90% of the people you're talking to don't actually have any power at all, and taking out your frustration on them is like yelling at the dog when you stub your toe on the curb....fat lot of good it will do you.

I finally had reached my limit. The only thing I had not tried was to go to the Motorola Cell Phone forums and express my unhappiness.

Not more than an hour later, Matt, one of the site Mods, responded with a question about the detaiils. I sent them to him and yesterday PM, I was notified by him and Motorola Corp. in Il. that a brand new phone was on it's way to me with an apology. It is due to arrive today. I couldn't be happier with the help supplied by the guys at Motorola user Forums.

By the way, I still haven't heard from the service department. Probably never will.:p
