Root Im interested in making a Rom.

[Mitchell4500]

I understand this isnt some easy childs play. But I think this ROM stuff is so cool. Is there a place I could go to kinda start this? I dont want to brick my phone so how exactly would I go about making one. Nothing complex, just custom apps maybe.

Help?

Umm... you can get android sdk and look around google forums and other forums for like samples of code, learn some java and u can develop your own apps on your computer on a virtual android "phone" without risking anything, thats for apps, ROM's idk

Also there is the rom kitchen [KITCHEN][SEPT. 1 '10] HTC Android Kitchen, v0.89 [Linux / Mac / Windows] - xda-developers be aware that I believe that the instructions for the splash screen if you use the provided tools could brick a phone. I'm trying to figure out more information about that. If any one knows how to build a Ally boot screen image. (480X800 pixels) the rom kitchen is 320X480 guides on xda-developers has a guide for eris. Any help would be appreciated.
