Root Im Making Stock JellyBean Backup

Hey, I got replacement phone (broken charging port) and I've made a stock 4.0.4 backup for all of you who want to upgrade to Jellybean, or get rid of that pesky "MB3 message", or if you have upgraded to Jellybean and didn't enjoy the constant random reboots, screen freezes, app freezes, ect., or for any other reasons, Here you guys go!

*I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGES YOU MAY CAUSE*
*DO AT YOUR OWN RISK*
*THESE ARE BACKUPS, NOT A ROM, YOU MUST RESTORE THROUGH CWM RECOVERY TEST 8*

Stock 4.0.4: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5kyUQzVo7YDNzlXS3VPX2ZpSVU&usp=sharing

Instructions
1) Download the 9 files above

2) Put the 9 files into a folder named "StockICS" MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO SPACES IN THE NAME!

3) In the folder, locate the file titled "nandroid.md5" with a compatible program such as notepad++ and delete everything in the file

4) Connect your SD card to your computer, and place the folder on your SD card in the directory: clockworkmod/backups/

5) Once that is complete, put the SD card into your Samsung Galaxy Reverb

6) Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery Test 8 (volume up+power)

7) *not sure if need, but recommended" wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache

8) Go to "backup and restore"

9) Select "restore from external sdcard"

10) Select "StockICS" (or whatever you named the file)

11) let the backup complete then you will have the Stock ICS for the Samsung Galaxy Reverb flashed!

How to get the Jellybean Update
Once you have restored the ICS backup through CWM recovery, you can either stay on ICS, or update to Jellybean. This will tell you how to update to Jellybean

1) Flash the STOCK recovery through ODIN, there's instructions here: [OUDHS] Soft Brick and CWM recovery support

2) Boot into Stock ICS, then force the update, (if you haven't already gotten it) by, going to Settings>About Device>Check for Updates. If it tells you your up to date, then go to Settings>Applications>All>Google Services Framework>Clear Data, then try again, keep repeating this process until you can get the update (for some odd reason, it told me last checked for updates was way back in the 60's, so if you experience this its normal.)

3) you should get a status 7 error when your stock recovery tries to install this, this is normal, what you do after you get the status 7 error, is pull the battery, put it back in, then boot into stock recovery and select "Update from System Cache", then Choose the update package (if you didnt rename it, it should say something along the lines of: "update_SPH-M950_MB3_to_MD6.zip")

4) Reboot! There, now you are in Stock Jellybean! (if you didn't update on purpose, I don't blame you!)

Dude, this will be great! Once it's uploaded, do you mind if I put it in my "Reverb Roms & Apps" thread?

Hey, I got replacement phone (broken charging port) and Im going to make a stock 4.0.4 backup, and a stock 4.1.2 backup for all you people who want/need it! just recover it with CWM and you should be happy :)

stock 4.0.4: uploading...

stock 4.1.2: uploading...

Do you need a spot to upload them to?

A clean, unspoiled ICS back-up would do WONDERS for a lot of people-myself included; not to mention the few developers for this device who've been pounding their heads against the wall for us...Thank You, tyler! As far as the root methods, everywhere there is discussion on this update and rooting in the same sentence, all are saying Poot is not working. Guard that ICS b/up CLOSELY! I'm sure the dev.'s at OUDHS (Interloper in particular), would be MOST intrigued w/this!

Interloper doesnt have internet anymore, he said in a thread he's getting rid of it :( but shabby penguin might want this

I don't have the exact address, but here on AF's site, on the Favorite Forums column if you click edit and scroll to the Android Development category (near the bottom), you'll find a tick box for their threads on here; that's where I found the site.

Could you reupload the 4.0.4 zip? Google Drive is doing weird things to it, and I can't download it.

EDIT: Nevermind. Thought it was supposed to be zip... This is an nandoid backup. Thanks!

MD5 mismatch, the file is no good :/

EDIT:

Oh wow, I feel stupid. I had spaces in name. If anyone else is having this problem make sure that you don't have spaces in the name of the folder with the backup files. I had mine as "Stock Reverb"

TL;DL MD5 Mismatch = Spaces, Don't use spaces.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT USE SPACES

OK, I think I read somewhere that you had to do some extra steps to use someone else's android backup there is a work around for the md5 mismatch problem. Sorry I can't direct you to an exact place I'm just recalling some things I've run across in my quest to return to stock.

If your running stock, you can force the update, instructions are in its own thread on here

I installed your stock rom, the update automatically downloaded so I went to install, got an assert error regarding "("ro.secure")" Status 7. So I restarted, and it isn't finding the JB update anymore even after doing the Google Services Framework trick. The time resets, but wen I check it says I'm on the latest version when I'm really not. The update data isn't in the cache either.

EDIT: Nevermind I just restarted my phone, cleared the data then forced stopped, now it's downloading. If it works I'll post here.
