I'm New Here

Just got my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. Playing around with it I like it but getting on line has been a nightmare. I am using a wifi connection from my laptop and trying to access gmail I get error message, Can't establish a reliable connection to the server.

The only way I have access to the internet is through my laptop. If I could connect it directly would that solve my problem?

Thanks for letting me join. :)

Hello hiddensprings! Welcome to AF!!
Are you trying to tether a connection to your computer? Or your home wifi?
Can you, on your device, "forget" the connection, and then try to reconnect by signing into your wifi?
I am not familiar with your device.
Do you have this device?

Thanks for replying. I hope I can explain this. I have a AT&T Non-Smart phone that hooks with a usb cable to my HP Win 7 laptop. I use Nokia Suite Software to connect to the internet. I have 2 desktop computers that are wired to each other and my netgear router. I hook the laptop to the router wirelessly. I'm using Intel My WiFi Utility to try to get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Model # GT-P3113 on the internet with my laptop's connection.

I finally made up a new connection (they call it a profile) with the Intel software and the tablet says it is connected but when I try to go some where on the internet it don't go. I press the kindle app wanting to download a book, it says it is downloading but the bar never moves and shortly after it says it was interrupted.

Can I get the tablet on the internet through the laptop connection?

I leave in the boondocks where the only internet connection is dial up from the phone company or very expensive satellite that is very limited on how much you can use it. With the connection I have now we watch Netflix a lot with no problems and as much as we want.

Hope you can help cause I am about at whits end. Thanks again

If you connect the laptop to router wirelessly then you should be able to connect the tablet directly to the router.
