Help I'm really getting sick of my phone doing this! Please help!

My phone (Virgin mobile Motorola Triumph) keeps telling me that there is not enough storage space and then it will block all incoming messages.

I've literally deleted EVERYTHING from my phone that is deletable. I've cleared all the cache's and all the internet stuff. I've taken all my pictures off and deleted my texts. It's basically at factory except it has all my contacts in it.

I don't know what else to do!

hey myphonehatesme! (I'm sorry you're having trouble)

You know what, I checked out the Motorola triumph sub forums and it appears to be a common issue with your phone. From what I read, it appears to be system files that are eating up your memory. You can't delete those files unless you have root. Lucky for you, they say that rooting your phone is easy peasy.

Here's a link to a thread I found in the sub forums.

I'll move this thread in there for you so you can get acquainted with some of your fellow Triumph owners. I'll send you a link via PM.

There are several threads here about this problem.
It's an easy fix, but you have to root your phone.
it's super easy to root the Triumph, so start in the All Things Root forum. it's in one of the "sticky" posts that stay at the top.

Basically our phone was released with some developer options left enabled, so the phone is constantly adding to alog files. They grow huge over time and use up all your storage space. it's unforgivable that Motorola would release the phone in this state and not offer a fix. They simply tell you to do a factory reset to fix it (temporarily). Any post that refers to rooting the device is deleted from Motorola's forums.

With root access you can fix it once and for all.
Me or someone else here will be glad to walk you through it, if you don't understand the directions.

First root your phone using one of the methods outlined here: http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/455603-guide-rooting-your-motorola-triumph.html
Then check out these threads:
Long drawn out step by step:

This one may be of interest also: http://androidforums.com/motorola-triumph/717610-safe-do.html and probably just about any other thread here asking about low space or disappearing memory, etc. Feel free to ask questions about anything you don't understand. it is pretty painless to fix.

Thanks you two! You're both a lot of help! I'm in the process of trying to root it and I have no idea how to get it from the computerto my phone. I'm so stupid when it comes to this stuff. hahaa

It is a small file. (I assume you mean Gingerbreak?) so it's no problem to download directly with your phone. Otherwise, just plug your phone on to a USB port and copy to the phone.

Alternatively, you could install Terminal Emulator from the play store, and use that method. You just open TE and type in 2 commands and you're done.

When that's done, go to play store and install ES File Explorer, using your phone (not your computer).
