Root I'm rooted. Can I Hard Reset?

Bohn101

Newbie
I'm going to pass my beloved EVO 4G to my sister. If she wants the phone cleared out, can I Hard Reset even though its rooted? I'm running:

Android version: 2.3.3
Build number: 4.24.651.1

Will the phone still be rooted after the Hard Reset?

What is the best way to Hard Reset?

Thank you for any help.

all a hard reset does really is wipe data which you can do in recovery. they are pretty much the same thing.

Thanks for the reply's I appreciate it.

You said install a new ROM, currently which ROM is recommended?

This phone will be for my sis, who is far less technically savvy. I would like a ROM that it pretty close to stock with everything working and integrated wireless tethering. Is that asking too much?

You could flash the stock ROM, but sprints wireless tethering wouldnt work. There are however free apps that do work. Simply search wireless tether in market.

Or I would suggest MikG2.57. It has the sprint hotspot hacked and is very stable.

Only issues with it right now are the new superuser that comes with it isnt stable. Just reflash the old superuser file after you flash the ROM and itll be good to go. The SU file can be found in the rooting for dummies gingerbread edition guide in the before rooting section.
