Root Im so tired of roms not working properly!

I've tried so many different roms and I keep having the same problem them all! I can't answer phone calls! It only gives me an option to end calls! I've done complete wipes and fresh installs. And nothing works..can anyone please help me!?
 
A couple questions. What roms have you tried? Are you manually flashing roms or using rom manager? Have you been wiping before you flash? What is up with your horror movie type avatar? (Okay the last one was just my curosity and has nothing to do with your phone issues ;))

I am thinking it must only be in Sense roms I haven't ever had any issues answering a call on AOSP roms, of course I rarely answer calls
 
I've never had that problem before with any version of CM7 (including the release candidates). The worst I've encountered is the screen not going off when it's next to my ear but I found out that was just dust on the proximity sensor.
 
Hey, sorry took so long to respond. I've tried a few roms, synergy,bamf,liquid, and they all give me the same problem. And i use to use ROM manager, now i install from the recovery screen. And wipe clean everythingbefore I do. Also if there's a patch fix could u please link me?
 
We seem to get weird issues depending on the ROM that is used. Just rooted, deodexed, stock GB no problems. With SkyRaider Zeus Preview, we're having message time stamp problems, with another one our location was saying we were a few states over. Sometimes we're able to find a patch to the problems, other times we have to deal with it.

Just remember something, we aren't paying for these ROMs so appreciate the work these devs have done. Froyo on our Bolt was horrible, battery life, texts not sending to right people, calls freezing, random reboots. We can live with a small error in a ROM.

I think the patch is just for bamf, I don't run Sense roms so I am not sure if there have been any patches for any others

The way to appreciate is to pay or donate. Too few do that IMHO. We are not entitled but for some reason it seems we feel we are. I'm no exception. But I'm working on it.
 
I recall there being a bug with the 3.0 dialer/phone.apk in the sense roms. It's been too long since I've used BAMF roms, but I remember always flashing the 2.1 call screen fix.

Not sure if the same fix applied to other sense roms though.

that glitch that i bolded really got me into some trouble with certain people :mad:.
 
I'm sorry guys, I'm just super frustrated....all i wanna do is be able to answer my phone..I flashed the bamf cubed ROM this evening, ill see if that makes any difference...if not, ill just have to go back to stock....::::fingers crossed:::::
 
But Yeahha, how can that be the answer when he's tried numerous Sense roms as stated in the OP. These are very old issues that have been corrected for months now. I don't even think those older, problematic, roms are even available any longer. I'd start all over, flash back to unrooted s-on, try it and then if it works stick with it. Either that or return it for another.
 
I use SHIFTS3NS3, and it too has the call answer bug, but I think I've had it twice over the entire time I've used the ROM (about 3 1/2 months now). I don't know what conditions cause the bug, but perhaps Vanteal's phone creates the condition at all times.
 
Why not just get BAMF Forever and use the Sense 2.1 answer screen patch? The Cubed is just a themed version of BAMF Forever. I'm on BAMF Forever 1.0.7 with the answer screen patch and everything is perfect as it can be.
 
Or you could get the BAMF SoaB 1.0 rom and add the patch as well, if you want Sense anyway. It is supposed to fix it, I have only been on it a day so I can't say for sure yet.

The patch should work on any Sense GB rom. It just puts the 2.1 dialer back. The only thing it will affect is if you have a modded dialer, in which case I would rather have one that works.

The dialer issue is not really fixed. It's just been patched everywhere. It does not affect everybody, so not all roms include the patch.
