I lost my SGN a few months back, bought a new one. I thought I read somewhere about Google Wallet being tied to your phone in some way, will I run into any issues with google wallet on my new SGN if/when I attempt to get the app on it?
You should go to wallet.google.com log in and disable the lost one.
BE VERY CAREFUL DOING THIS!!!
If you don't have access to the old phone it can't "remove" the account and it will get "stuck" trying to remove the cards. If you're on VZW they WILL NOT HELP YOU...
What I ending up doing after I used the "remove card" feature is calling the "money network" and "closing" my google account (they are contracted by GW to provide the financial side)
That said you "should" be fine just activating the GW on the new device. GW will allow you to use one account across multiple devices(suppossedly if the phone rep could be trusted)
There is nothing wrong with doing that. If by any chance that phone is ever turned on again it will automatically disable google wallet.
Having actually, gone through it, I can actually speak with some accuracy.
To be clear, once you click, "remove" cards. UNLESS it can actually remove the cards. It gets "stuck", at this point you can no longer USE or ADD the card to another phone... The accounts are "frozen" as far as Google Wallet is concerned.
Yeah I have been through it too and everything is working fine on my replacement phone. You do not remove the cards, it disables the wallet app on the phone so it can no longer be used. It will NOT effect how it works on another phone. After you disabled the app you can contact citi and or money network to deactivate the cards if you choose.
