Help Image Size (& Whatsapp) Contact Photos

Aldro

Newbie
I recently got the HTC One S. Loving it so far, but I'm having a couple of issues that bug me to no end.

First off; Whatsapp no longer syncs with the Facebook contact photos. It only shows the contact photos that I stored and set individually, even though everything in my phone is set to sync with either Google or Facebook. It's no biggie, but it bothers me like a mofo. Anyone know how to fix this?

ETA: I also noticed that despite being synced with FB, plenty contact photos do not show up in both Whatsapp as well as my contact list. This was never an issue with my Desire Z...

Secondly (and this is something I experienced with my Desire Z, too) are the contact photos. In the contact list, everything looks fine. HQ etc. But when I click on a contact to view more details or to call them, the picture is blown up and looks like a pixelated version taken in the 1970's. Kind of ridiculous when the phone has such a big screen.

I'm not expecting a quick fix or any fix, even. But does anyone know the image size of the picture that you see when you open a contact? Maybe I can work around the issue by properly resizing my contact photos.

Thanks in advance!

It's my understanding that this is the case with all third party messaging apps (handcent, go sms, etc.). I guess it's something to do with ics and google and licensing.

This really annoyed me also!
Whatsapp said "Unfortunately, this has to do with Google blocking the Facebook sync feature, and is not something we can fix."

I used Haxsync to get around it.
