Last year I made RZRecovery for the original Droid. It was a huge success, since then I have been asked to port to other devices. So here,

Definitely confirming that this works. The features built in are brilliant! Much more useful than CWM, especially the backup before installing option. Thanks!

Also, I don't see the need in being able to overclock while in recovery?

When overclocking everything works quicker!
It can flash quicker and backup quicker. But overclocking to high might
crash the recovery.
