Importing Android phone from UK

Hi. I'm thinking of pre-ordering the HTC Desire HD from a retailer in the UK. I was just wondering if anyone ever imported a phone from the UK to the US before and if you were charge any customs/tariff fees? Thanks.
 
There probably won't be. I would be more concerned with what frequencies it uses for 3G since the US and Europe use different ones.
 
2G will work no problems (it's quad band GSM phone after all), but HSPA will not work (AFAIK none of USA carriers use 900/2100 supported by Desire HD).

Ebay would your best bet. I can't see Amazon UK shipping outside Europe..Maybe one of the Marketplace sellers will?

I need to ask this question;..Is there any reason why you want the Desire HD when you have the same phone (bar some features already mentioned) in the EVO 4G?
