Importing Atrix to Europe

Would it be possible to import Atrix to Europe? It seems that the phone supports the bands used in my country (900 and 2100, I believe). Does that mean that the phone should work exactly like any phone I could buy from here?

If yes, which retailers would ship the phone to Europe? The phone should, of course, be unlocked. I believe Amazon will sell the phone, but do they usually sell all phones available through them unlocked, too? They do ship to my country but do they ship phones, too, or are they exclusive to the US? Are there any other options? I'd rather not buy it from Ebay, though it's not out of the question if it's the only option.

I don't know if the phone is coming here later, but even if it is, I don't want to wait that long. If importing is too much of a hassle, I might buy the LG Optimus 2X instead, but Atrix seems slightly more tempting.

According to this site it supports 2100, but it's not an official site so I don't know if I can trust it enough.

Oh, and will the unlocked phone be available at the same time as the locked one?

We know the Atrix will work in Europe because it will be sold in Europe by Orange. The big questions are:

1. How hard will it be to get one that's not carrier-locked
2. Will the AT&T version be extra locked down with sideloading disabled, etc., so maybe you want to wait for another release anyway

I always forget the US carriers do their best to ruin their phones. Maybe I should just get the unlocked Optimus. I'd miss the extra ram, better resolution and the laptop dock, though.

You'll only miss the dock, which is overpriced and slow.

The qHD PenTile LCD screen has an effective resolution less than the normal grid WVGA LCD of the Optimus.

The extra ram will not come in play 99.999% of the time unless you're using the dock.

You'll be missing out on the fingerprint reader too...

What about the other factors infavour of the Motorola, like call quality, gorilla glass screen, long battery life, etc. Between the LG and Moto, I'd get the Moto without hesitation, if not for the advantages I listed, then because my experience with LG has been less than stellar (LG stands for Lousy Garbage in my house).
:p
Having said that, I'll reserve my full opinion of the Moto until I see one first-hand, then decide if it's worth it to upgrade from my Desire.
