Help Importing documents

I successfully imported a Word Doc from email to a PDF, and then to Snote. Now I can't do it again, like I lucked into something I can't replicate.
1. From Email, I imported to Polaris as PDF.
2. Now in Snote, I go to Import, but I can't find the PDF. I can find it if I open Polaris, but not from Snote.
3. I've read about the green dot you check next to the PDF to get it to Snote, but I can't get to that screen.
So, how do I get the PDF to Snote? I can either locate it in the download folder, or Polaris Office, but not from the Snote import function.

OK, I found the answer...from a Youtube. I go to Snote, and then form Import to PDF, to SD card and Download folder, and there is my PDF. I can check the grey dot to green and import.....

What I don't understand is why is the Download folder listed in SD card? I don't have a card inserted.

That's the weird thing about the android file system. sdcard denotes internal memory whereas extSdCard denotes the microsd card external memory. So confusing to call internal memory sdcard.

That is odd...but I appreciate the explanation. If I hadn't seen it on You Tube, I may have been looking for another directory for a long time!
