Help Importing/Exporting contacts from captivate to pc?

Ive bee wanting to backup up my phone so i can finally update it. I searched and searched ways to backup the contacts and someone mentioned importing and exporting the contacts. So can someone explain to me how to do this? Or if someone has an easier way?

You should be able to click on the contacts icon, hit the menu button, and you should see in the bottom left corner an option to Import/Export. You can export your contacts to your to sd card. From there you can copy the exported file (something like .0001.vcf) to your computer if you wanna make sure your contacts are saved. Should anything happen to your contacts and you wanna restore with this file, just follow the first couple steps and instead of export, you import the previously saved file.
