Importing photos from PC to Moto X

Newbie
I know how to get the photos off the moto X to the PC but I can't figure out how to move pics from the PC onto the Moto X.
Can somebody help me please?

It should be as simple as drag/dropping the pics from the pc to the "dcim" folder of your moto x. Or the "download" folder if you don't want them in the same folder as your camera pictures.

I thought it would be easy too but in the MTP mode There's no drive appearing in explorer (I'm using XP) but my media player sees the phone and MP3 files transefer over just fine.but Jpegs are not visible.
When I switch to the PTP setting the phone shows up, I see the folder structure on it in explorer, I can download pics from the Moto to the pc but I cannot upload them. Dragging them into a folder does not work and when I select "send to" there is no option for the phone.
This is confusing

Upload the photos to Google+. You can then use the "Photos" app on your phone to view the photos from G+ on the phone.

Or upload the photos to Dropbox and get the free Carousel app by Dropbox from the Play Store and you can look at all of your Dropbox photos on the phone.

Is that good enough, or do you need the photos to be on the phone? If so, I'd suggest using AirDroid from the Play Store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sand.airdroid). With AirDroid you can connect to your phone from your PC wirelessly. When connected, there is an icon for "Photos" (on your computer) and you can click that and there will be an "upload" link in the window that opens that allows you to upload photos to the phone. It's pretty slick.

Or if the photos are on an old phone also, you can use Motorola Migrate app to send them to new phone via WiFi between the phones. Worked great for me. Not sure if both phones have to be Motorola though ???
So in theory, you could put them on another phone then transfer them via phone. Just a thought.

Use ES File Explorer or Astro File Manager (both in the Play Store) to map from the phone to the PC and browse the PC for the photos wanted. This assumes your phone is on your home WiFi, if you have it. Your phone and computer need to be on the same network.

I hope you have enough memory unless your x have a SD card . I think to dropbox would be better to save space for the big downloads .

I have had my moto x for about a week now and I have imported MP3s once.
I just plugged in my USB cable into my PC and set the Moto to MTP.
Then XP gave me the option to choose the media player I wanted to sync to and then I opened the player and the Moto was there as an option to send MP3 to.
Now for some reason I get the message that No active device has been detected even though the Moto is plugged in. When I use it under PTP it works fine just not under MTP anymore
What am I missing?

I've downloaded pics from Photobucket to my phone, the app has that as an option. It creates a Photobucket file in the gallery. Not sure if other photo sites would do the same but it does work with Photobucket for sure.

I merged tour MP3 Importing thread here also, it has to do with importing and much easier to follow, rather then create a whole new thread everytime. I would stick to post your issue to your one thread about your device, will be much easier for members and staff to follow, and we can read back and see what was discussed. ;)

I already have an external hard drive attached to my router (WD MyCloud Network Hard Drive.) ES File Explorer wirelessly connects to that drive easily when I'm on my wifi network. I have to/from folders on the hard drive transfer files to my phone and back up files from my phone. Great solution if you have a connected drive.

The WD drive has an android app that allows me remote access to the drive away from home, too.
