Help Improve aGPS accuracy?

So this isn't a question about the Captivates slow and inaccurate GPS, but rather the accuracy when using only wireless networks to determine location.

On my iPod touch (which only has wifi to work with) the map shows about a 100 meter bubble with the center right on my house, on my captivate the bubble is 2900 meters wide, dead in the center of my town and the bubble doesn't even cover my house. When the aGPS is working I get a very quick lock to the satellites when trying to use real GPS, and I'm wondering if there are some settings I can tweak as I feel that using wireless networks alone should be way more accurate than it is. Both my iPod and Captivate are using Google Maps so I figure if they are getting the same information based on wifi they should show me in the same spot, but they don't.

Thanks.
