Help In Car Use

Hi Guys,
My last phone was an HTC HD2. In the car I could place it in a holder, connect an audio lead from the phone to my car auxiliary input and a charging lead via the cigarette lighter.
This setup allowed me to use the sat nav function and answer calls with incoming voice over the auxiliary input of the in car stereo and my voice picked up via the mic on the phone.
While not quite a full handsfree, this setup was perfectly satisfactory for my requirements.
However when I try the same setup with the note I find that I can hear incoming calls but they can't hear me. I assume this is because the note sees a plug in the audio jack socket and assumes that a handsfree kit has been plugged in so it mutes the built in mic in favour of the headset one.
Is there any way round this? Or do I have to buy a handsfree kit?

Regards
Clive

Hi Clive,

I did some research on this topic and it seems to be a Samsung thing (certainly for at least a year or so). I asked the same question here about two weeks ago and got no answer so I am guessing that the hardware purchase will be necessary.

Regards,
Eric.

hey guys, just to let you know i have a normal stereo sleeved (two pins and ground) jackplugged into my note and then into aux input on car stereo and it works brill as a hands free solution...crystal clear sound through car stereo and whoever im talking to can hear me perfectly......just a thought, check the jack plug that you insert intothe note to make sure it has two pins and ground (from tip of plug you should have metal/plastic ring then metal/plastic ring then metal to end of plug). if you have 3 plastic rings then your plug is designed to cancel the phone mic (check the bundled earphone/mic lead that came with phone and you will see 3 rings) this is so you can use the mic in the hands free lead.

i hope this makes sense as i have no issues at all with my set up in car but if you need anymore help feel free to ask :-)
