In relation to icon packs....

What, in layman terms, does this mean?

***You need Open Home - Full or Better Cut to use this, otherwise you just see an icon gallery***

I have searched the market place for open home and I can't find anything called that. Is it another word for "rooted"

I'd love to get involved with all this as I see it as a way of extending the personalisation of the phone. It's the "show us yer homescreens" thread that got me started lol

Cheers

You need an app in order to put new icons on apps, shortcuts and folders. The apps mentioned in your post can be used, FolderOrganiser can also use icon packs. They don't actually change the icons on your phone, they create a shortcut to the item that can be edited (icon changed, etc) and you add the edited shortcut to your homescreen instead of the original item.

Search the Market for Better Android to see the full and lite versions of Open Home (fill version is $3.99).
