Inc 2 Laggy?

I've done some searching and haven't found any real complaints about the Inc 2 being laggy. I had my Inc 2 now since launch day and the original was replaced within my first 30 days (with a brand new device) due to the power button not making contact. Prior to the 2, I had the original Inc and I'm concerned because I find the 2 very laggy and have to reboot and do battery pulls almost daily. I never had to do this with the original Inc. or my Eris and OG Droid. I don't use a lot a widgets and have limited apps, but the app that I do use the most is Fat Secret Calorie Counter. My 2 is set up identical to my original Inc and I never had any noticeable lag. Does anyone else experience this on the Inc 2? Should I call Verizon for a replacement? Also, I don't use a task killer because I never thought I needed one, but am now wondering if a task killer is worth it and may help with this lag?

By the way, after a reboot or battery pull, the phone is perfect, then gets laggy as the day goes on.

Opinions and help from Inc 2 users are appreciated.

I do not find that it is laggy? Try a factory reset and see if it comes back. If so then go for a replacement.

My incredible 2 is by far the fastest Android devices I have owned to date. If yours is acting that way it's either an app or. Causing it or a defective device. Not much negative talk about the incredible 2 like other devices on the forums with the battery life and speed this phone rocks!

Agreed my Dinc2 is very smooth and fast, not laggy at all especially compared to my DX, this phone is far superior

yep.....there's something wrong if you're getting lag.

my Dinc2 is the fastest phone i've ever owned. it rips through anything i'm doing; no lag, no hiccups, nuttin. not even a hint of hesitation, at anytime.

Download advanced task killer. Thats what i do when my phone gets laggy. Its probably because you open a few applications and your phone does not close them .

ATK... I'm not going there.

I have found that ATK is quite the memory hog?. It's currently using 40+ mb on the Dinc2.

and how do you know that? The application is less than 1mb. I set mine to every 30 minutes and find the app very useful

I did DL ATK and it improved. I've never used ATK on my past phones and today will be a good test as I had little use yesterday. Regardless, I think that I will do a master reset and avoid the ATK since more people are against them than for them. Glad to hear it is just my phone and not a characteristic of the Inc 2.

On rare occasions, my DINC2 seems to lurch along (is this your "laggy"?), notably with something like Angry Birds. I do a Reset (not Factory Reset) to clear out all the apps that didn't die off as I'd like them to. End of problem.

what is a 'Reset', versus a 'Factory Reset'?

Hold down the power button (top right of case) to get Power options. Choose Reset. Easy-peasy.

OK, thanks.

But when i do this, i do not get a "Reset" option. i get a "Restart" option. Is this what you're referring to ?

And just to be sure (on my part! lol), what is it that this does for my phone?

You don't have to call Verizon for a replacement phone. People do this too often for no reason at all. You just have to think to yourself... is this a software issue or a hardware one? In your case it sounds like a software issue.

Why are you doing battery pulls? There is really no reason to do this unless your phone has somehow froze up and cant be shut down by the normal means. This could be part of your problem.

Your best bet is to do a factory reset. Then slowly add each app back in one by one until you notice what is causing the slowdown. In your case I would install the calorie counter on there first and see how things go for a day or so. Then slowly add apps back in. You'll either find the offending app, or realize that it was just a configuration setting gone wrong.

What OS do you have on your phone? Mine came with Froyo and had LOTS of lag as the weeks went on after I got it. Plus it froze and rebooted itself alot. Upgraded to Gingerbread OS and it is lightening fast now, all the time.

Update: I do have GB 2.3.3 and did do a factory reset. After the factory reset, the lag seemed to go away but as I was setting up my screens, I got a Force Close message which pointed to the My Verizon App. After tapping FC, the lag seemed to come back in a big way. I then cleared the data and cache of the app and that only made it worse. Now the FC message was popping every time I brought the phone out of sleep. I then uninstalled the app and the phone ran fine with no FC message. I then reinstalled the app and sure enough, the message came back. I then read on Droid-Life that there was an update for the Inc 2. I downloaded the update and all is well even with the My Verizon App installed. The phone is now perfect and I did remove ATK since I never had the need to use it before. So if you didn't get the update yet, I suggest you do so. Thanks to all that responded.
