Help Incoming call problems since update

Since I have installed the new download, if my phone is locked it doesn't have any sound. If I answer it, when I drag the answer button to unlock it cuts off the caller and then reboots. Help please! Hubby's phone did the same, but he reset factory settings, but I can't afford to loose my data ( which he did!)

Welcome to AF! :)

Is there anything in the display or sound settings along the lines of "silent when the screen is locked"? Sorry, I've not run the stock HTC software for ages and I'm sort of stuck with what to suggest.

What data do you want to keep if you factory reset? You can backup your contacts to google and there are apps to backup your SMS and call history too. All the apps you have should be backed up to your gmail account so when you sign in after the reset, they should download themselves again.

Since updati8ng the sense upgrade last night on my unbranded Tesco mobile, when receiving a call while the phone is locked it will not let me answer the call it just forces a close and sends a message to HTC, is there an easy way around this?
Other than that I love the upgrade.

Same problem here. Phone just reboots the android phone service and PIN has to be reentered. A very annoying problem and one of many in the life of this desire hd!

I have just been playing around and its definitely when the phone is locked, you are supposed to drag the phone icon into the ring to answer, at this point it forces a shut down.
I have tried it with other skins but no change, also some times it doesnt even ring when set to normal volume.

Very annoying as its supposed to be a phone and know one can call me on unless I am playing on it when they call

El Presidente is correct in that Facebook appears to be the problem.

I had the same problem. I removed the Facebook account (Settings -> Accounts & Sync -> Facebook -> Remove Account) and it solved the problem.

I then re added the Facebook account and no more force closes when I get an incoming call.

Great find, thanks a lot.
Upgraded to latest versions of everything.
Got the same problem, crash when answering if the contact was in my contact list and on linked to facebook and phone was not unlocked ( ie no problem is phone was on and on a home screen ).
Removed facebook account from Accounts settigngs screen.
Retested - no crash
Logged into facebook to re-add the facebook account.
Retested - still no crash

Happy now.

I had the exact same problem with my Desire S, and the advice of removing and re-adding FB under accounts & sync helped. Happy :)
But this last software update is totally annoying - accepting and rejecting call is really uncomfortable (by my mind, sry) and several other setting went crazy as well, but these problems got solved already.

I'll give the FB change a try!

I have noticed a workaround though, on my phone at least, if you answer the call by dragging the icon, you will get the "error" dialog, but the call WILL actually be answered and connected. So as long as you ignore the dialog you can answer the call and speak to the caller. Then at the end of the call you can do the "force close" faffing around and PIN entry (although mine does not always ask for that usually it does).
