Help Incoming Call vibrates once, then goes silent

frankjlin

Lurker
After installing a profile scheduler, my phone will not consistently vibrate for incoming calls when set to VIBRATE.

The phone will show the "vibrate" icon in the notification bar, and during an incoming call, it will actually switch to the "silent" icon.

I have already uninstalled the profile scheduler, to no avail. I have also reinstalled the app, reset all the settings, and then uninstalled. That doesn't work either.

you can either remove other apps one by one, or factory reset.

just the regular questions:

are you rooted?
do you have the latest firmware updates for your device?
do you have a screen protector on or a case? remove both if you do
using a launcher? any widget apps? these may have taken over control
some other random app on your device may have taken over the notifications. this is why removing other apps one by one and testing may help
you can also try holding the power + vol UP button until the phone goes into a soft reset (will not lose data).

make sure fastboot is unticked

difficult to decipher over the internet. there is no magic bullet fix for these types of random glitches, short of a factory reset.

Answers to questions.
1. not rooted.
2. On Kitkat 4.4.2 and just downloaded Sense 6.0 for the HTC One (M7)
3. I have a case, but it is not a hardware issue. The icon for vibrate actually changes mid-call. It will vibrate once (with the vibrate icon showing on the screen, then it will stop vibrating and the 'silent' icon will appear while the phone continues to ring. All other vibration functions are working (text, email, facebook, etc). Phone will vibrate on phonecalls if I use another scheduling app.
4. no launcher.
5. widget apps: gmail, google now. no others.

I did a factory reset a month ago, and the problem was not resolved.

I'm pretty certain the app "Profile Scheduler" changed the vibrate settings for incoming phone calls for the default "vibrate" profile on the phone.

Thanks for the help.

well if you did a factory reset and yo ustill have the issue, then its a warranty/rma level at this point.

the factory reset should cure 99.8% of all cold and common flu symptoms on these devices, and if you still have the issue, its time to take it in and let your carrier diagnose it and/or use your insurance to get a new device.

if you feel a particular app caused your issues, speak with the dev of the app.

you can also root if you want (option) and build the ROM to your taste.

i hope you find the issue of your problem.
