Help Incoming calls going direct to voice-mail?

Triciaa

Newbie
This has been happening quite a number of times now. I get a notification on my phone saying, you have missed this call....... and yet the phone is right beside me. My daughter called me 4 times today, each time she said it went on to voice mail, again, my phone was right beside me.

Any ideas please, thanks:)

This might be due to an app running in the background that's using certain permissions that are hogging your phone's connectivity. Or you might have a defective SIM or an 'old' SIM (from another phone) that may not be 100% compatible with the Desire S.

The later case will be quicker to fix. Your network provider can test the SIM and send you a replacement.

With the first case, you'll have to try to see what processes/apps are running when this happens and uninstall anything suspect.

Did you have 3G on at the time? What network are you on?

I'm with Orange, I remember quite a while back, with my other phone B/B, it happened a few times, if I remember correctly, it was something to do with the phone settings and the phone had to set to a different setting (3G ?), I remember changing something on the phone but not sure what:confused: But it worked :)

By default, on Orange, your phone's Network Mode should be on GSM/WCDMA auto. Menu > Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Network Mode. You could try setting it to GSM (2G) only or WCDMA (3G) only, depending on which has the best signal. If you live in an area where you can pick up a strong signal for both, then the default should be fine.

Contacted Orange this evening, they told me to remove battery and sim, leave for 5 mins and that should solve the problem. We shall see:rolleyes:
