Help Incomplete ICS update?

Hi,

I recently updated my phone to ICS over the air and I've been having some issues with it.

I've looked through guides on the new features for ICS such as a new calendar, new gmail, new gallery layout, but I don't have any of those updates. My lock screen is different to the gingerbread screen but it isn't what the ICS previews show the lock screen to be (I can't customise it either: no matter whether I turn on or off the clock and weather and change the positions of both in settings, when I go to my lock screen I have a clock at the top in an ugly font). I don't have the new font on my phone either. Basically, it's as though only some of the changes have been implemented and some have stayed the same and I have no idea how to fix it :/

Yet when I go to 'About this phone', it says my version is 4.0.3 so clearly my phone thinks it's on ICS.

I updated to ICS last night but I don't have the new Roboto font and no camera shortcut on the lock screen, but everything else has been updated no problem. Does this mean that it updated incomplete? Any advice please

Hi there

It's common misunderstanding.
The update changes very little look, and it's not meant to make Galaxy look like Nexus, which is running its pure version of Android ICS OS.
The update you have, is for the OS, which is visible more on the setting side, the front-end is still operated by TouchWiz (Samsung's Interface).

You can get the camera shortcut (and a few other things like an extended button bar on the notification panel) if you install JKay's Deluxe Framework. It does include a font, but I'm not sure if it's Roboto.

If you want the real Roboto font, this may help.

So lots of the cool features of ICS, such as the new 'magazine' style gallery and the new lock screen aren't actually available for the SG2? That's a shame. I guess I can try to find a theme on the market which'll make it look closer to the pure ICS theme...
