Help Inconsistent charging from adapter

All is well with my Xoom except for charging. Most times I have to unplug and plug the adapter into the socket several times and wiggle it until the charging icon starts up on my device. I am wondering whether I have a defective charger or this is just a poorly-made product. This does not appear to be a problem at the Xoom end of the charger cord, but rather with the block at the receptacle. Anyone have any thoughts on this one? (Have tried different receptacles in my house). Also wondering if anyone has found another source for chargers.

I'm having similar trouble with the charging dock.The problem seems to be at the little plug that is connected to the Xoom dock.

I don't think my problem is at the Xoom end.

I fiddled with the adapter end (of the dock) in a couple of sockets also. It only started working when I fiddled with the little pluggy part at the dock.

Cheap/shoddy equipment? For the price of the Xoom, we shouldn't any problems with these simple tasks.
