Help Incorrect number displayed in 'Status'

Hello, I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S3. When I look at my phone number on the phone under "status", it shows my number with a "1" in front of it as if it was long distance? Is this normal?

What country are you in? In the UK i think the international way of showing a number is with a +1 replacing the first 0
EDIT oops. Just had a look at mine and its +44 for the UK. +1 must be your country code and yeah id say its normal :thumbup:

I live in Canada. Also if I try to call my cell from my work land line it says it is long distance?

I just checked my settings, and I have a +1 in front of my number as well.

My cell is an old number. Having moved several times since I got it, it is not in the same area code as my home phone, if that matters.
