Don't know this 100%, but that may be due to the case with HTC & Apple. That case was about data tapping, such as tapping a phone number, email address, or location on a webpage, email, or text. Supposedly HTC's workaround was to have you set default programs to handle each form of hyperlink, rather than the popup for each instance. That may also be why the app hilmark uses isn't affected, since they haven't been sued yet by apple.
