Not uncommon for the new HTCs to be spec'd for a 32 GB card but in reality to work fine with a 64.

Soon, there will be nothing to speculate about, so this thread is heading mercifully for the lock. :)

Enjoy your new phones.

The only thing that worries me is I'll go ahead with that thinking and then find out this one model doesn't have the capability. I'm sure HTC pushed for a One series on Verizon, but they chose to go this route, like with no ImageSense, so who knows what else Verizon skimped on. With my luck it'd be the sd card.

I know I don't NEED to carry everything with me, but then again I don't really NEED a smartphone either. But I've got a lot of music, and what I listen to varies quite a bit, so I'd be constantly streaming or syncing my music from the cloud. Considering that our unlimited data isn't going to be here forever (this is Verizon) that would be a bad habit to get into. So at some point it may start costing me to access music I've already paid for, which seems stupid to me. So I'll always take a physical storage option over cloud.

That's a fair enough argument and I'd agree with you to a point. I do wonder how much of that music you touch on a daily or even weekly basis. If you have a 64 GB card, how much of that is taken up by media and how much do you listen to at a stretch? I've got a 32 GB card on my phone. ~20 Gb are free. I never use streaming unless it's for a service like Mog that specifically requires it obviously. I can't recall any time recently when I wanted to listen to a particular song or artist and it wasn't on my phone. I've found that I have certain stuff I like to listen to and I keep that synced to my phone. The rest is stuff I don't listen to very often.

Well, I'll keep a good thought for you. :)

You know I never really thought about that and storing data\music in the cloud. I will never do it, just like I will never take the time to load music on my phone or any kind of music player. I will always take streaming over syncing and buying music... But you have a great point. Put your music in the cloud, then stream it and you are using up your data..!!

Just picked mine up this morning. I've already done a factory reset to bypass backup assistant.

It's a lot more glossy looking in person. I am paranoid as heck to drop this thing.

Today is not going to be a productive day at work at all

I've still got my old 120gb iPod classic that has around 85% of my library on it, which takes up around 40gb. After my iTunes account got screwed up (with no help from Apple for my purchased not recognizing me as the authorized owner) I haven't synced it again (also had to reinstall my laptop OS so would have to recreate my playlists). So any new music I've picked up since then (about 2 years) is on my android phones, which is around 15gb. The problem is I find myself constantly switching back & forth between the two, and would like to not have to do that. I install car stereo a bit on the side, so besides listening I use them for test purposes. I've tried to add what I listen to most on my phone, but always find I leave some off. I've been hoping a phone would come out with enough storage so I wouldn't have to worry about it, and this is the closest I've seen. When I thought both had a 32gb sd limit, I figured I'd just have to keep waiting. But with the 32gb internal/ 64gb sd I can make that happen. Plus I wouldn't mind having a movie or 2 on there as well. So keep my music & pics on the sd & movies on the internal storage.

Like I said, I still wanna handle them both before making a decision, but the SGS3 has some advantages that are hard to just dismiss. I'll have a better idea when I see them up close & personal.

Since I pre-ordered the S3 and it hasnt arrived yet (and therefore has not been activated yet), I cannot purchase the Incredible on Verizon's website even at full-retail price. That seems kind of silly. Any ideas? Would they allow me to purchase it at the store?

Why not upload everything to Google Music, and put what you listen to most on the phone? That way you can always stream anything that isn't on your phone, and you have everything saved in the cloud just in case. Works great for me.

That was my solution as well, just with Amazon and not Google. The playlists I use and abuse are on my phone. The other stuff in the cloud.

If anyone gets this phone subsidized and kept unlimited please let me know. I order the siii to keep my unlimited but i would rather get this phone. I plan on selling it or if someone wants to do a swap. Two siii's for two inc4g?

Stopped in to the Verizon corporate store and nothing....I asked about the phone and the manager looked at me like he had no idea what I was talking about.

Ugh. He claims probably just available online right now...I said nothing.

Will call later or tomorrow....

I started to use Google Music (I was an early beta user) but found it rather slow to upload my rather large collection. I then started have issues with the Music Manager program running on my PC so looked around for other options.

Eventually settled on AudioGalaxy that allowed me to stream direct from my PC.

Not sure at the end of the day what's best but it's always nice to have options!

I used to use audiogalaxy until I got a nasty virus that I traced back to that service on my computer. Since then I use Google Music, though my music library is small enough for me not to worry about it....

Really hoping that storage isn't an issue.

My SO might be getting this and she is on a 300mb data plan so streaming isn't really an option for her

The main reasons I don't want to use cloud services is a rather large library, the fact that we won't always have unlimited data, & lastly that we don't have 4g here. Hell I've barely got 3g, we've got a network extender just to be able to make calls reliably in the house. About 10 miles away there is a decent signal, but my area is very hilly, so there is a lot of dropout.

But mostly, I don't want get in the habit of using cloud services with Verizon just waiting for everyone to become dependent on it & then work out a way to get everyone off of unlimited. I've already got a niece & nephew that I'm trying to reign in on there data usage (both have given us a few months when their texting cost us around $300-$500). When my nephew got my old Inc2, he used 1gb in 2 days, on 3g. While we are on unlimited, that will be hard habit to break when we no longer have that option. If he kept going at that rate on a tiered plan that would cost around $130. So rather than become dependent on data services, I'm trying to set an example, as are my 2 brothers that are also on my family plan. If the new data plans were a little more affordable, I probably wouldn't worry as much, but as it is we spend enough on this already, I don't need to give them anymore.

Btw, in case you're wondering, I'm the only one without 4g, but 2 of the phones on our plan are g.

Does nobody have wifi access?

Does nobody have wifi access?

I have WiFi at home, but it'd be faster for me to plug the phone into the computer to load them on. As far as WiFi outside of my house, I live on a farm. My nearest town of any substantial amount is 30 miles away with around 1400 residents. The only WiFi in town is at the hospital (unless someone happens to have a non password protected router, but I don't like leaching off of someone elses internet). That's why my location says "two weeks from anywhere" cuz that's how it feels most of the time.

I'm going to rub it in that I live in a 4g area. Unfortunately I work in very remote areas and barely get 1edvo or 1x or something like that most of the time. So I sometimes feel your pain.

There's a new review at TheVerge. For them, it seems like the Inc 4G is a pleasant enough phone, but still inferior to the GS3. With scores of 7.0 (Inc 4G) to 8.5 (GS3), they've got me wondering whether I'll want to exchange my pre-ordered GS3 for the Inc 4G after all.

In a related note, VZW confirmed that I could exchange the subsidized GS3 for a subsidized Inc 4G and maintain unlimited data.

Stopped at the Uptown Minneapolis Verizon store today and asked if they had the DInc4G available. The sales guy said they did but it wasn't out on display yet. He also said it was "the same phone as the Incredible but it has 4G"!
I can't believe it! Is Verizon trying NOT to sell this phone?! Not on display, obviously uneducated sales rep, what else?
I educated him a little on the phone and told him as a customer I was very disappointed in the way their store and Verizon in general is handling this phone.
I really don't feel like VZ is giving HTC a fair shake. I think anyone who likes the HTC brand ought to send an email to HTC telling them how dissapointed we are about how this phone is being PR'd and released.
I will be sending an email to the store I visited today, Verizon corporate, and HTC.
I encourage you to do the same.

I was just thinking how I like this little community better than the S3 one. It's like that one is too big and impersonal, aside from the Verizon preorder thread. Plus when you're looking for answers here you don't have to wonder if someone is talking about the quad core version or the dual core one. I still don't know if I want to exchange the S3 for good ole HTC when I finally do get it delivered. I do wish this phone was a 4.3" at the least. I need to decide because I'm so ready to pull the trigger on a car mount, a dock and other accessories already!

That's another worry I have about going with the S3. While obviously I don't know anyone here personally, I usually know who to go to if I have an issue with something. Going to a new forum means learning who has the knowledge I need and, like question said, which version will they be talking about. I realize space is probably at a premium but having a forum dedicated to each version would be helpful. Hell, even separating the Internationl from the US variants would work (since all the US versions are relatively the same except for the radios & bloatware).

Just one more thing to throw on the pile of pros & cons I guess. At this point I'm waiting to see launch day adopters' reviews of battery life & camera quality. I've noticed there's a lot of confusion on ImageSense in the reviews online. BGR said the Inc4G had it, I believe The Verge & one other said it had the software but not the chip, & others say it has nothing of it at all. It's hard to believe it's launch day and there is still confusion about this phone.

I contacted HTC about something on this phone and the guy asked my if it had released yet! So your emails may fall on deaf ears if the manufacturer doesn't have a clue about it.

Btw, I called to see if they thought a 64GB microsd card would work on it. He was gone for about 5 minutes and came back and said he was still looking for the info. I asked if he was looking for the specs & he said yes. I told him (as I had when I first spoke to him) that I knew it said 32GB supported, but the Rezound also said that and apparently the guys at xda said it works fine on the Rez., so I was wondering if the sd card setup was the same. He then asked me if I heard that from an HTC or Verizon rep. I told him no, & he ended with all we can tell you is what the specs say.

So I may have to see if any of the xda guys picked one up and tried a 64GB card in it.

So we went to the VZW store today to exchange my wife's Rezound that she got on the 23rd. We got it as a $100 off 3G to 4G promo. They retroactively honored that deal and I still get the $50 mail in rebate. Total out of my pocket today was just the $30 restocking fee. I paid $100 for the Rezound plus $30 upgrade fee. So in the end the DINC4 cost me $110 after all is said and done. Can't complain about that. AND because the original contract was signed before the 28th I stilll get to keep my unlimited data. Very happy customer here.
