I seen Sprint's advertisement of the HTC One last night... Verizon would be smart to announce this phone soon to keep people from jumping ship.

I actually had another phone on order and as soon as I saw the droiddoes page this morning I promptly cancelled it. I want this phone! I don't think it'll be $299, because that button brought you to the Razr Maxx page. I've been bitching lately that all the nicer phones tend to be 4.3" or above. I remember when 4.3" seemed huge, but now many people proclaim it to be the sweet spot. 4.7" is the new 4.3". So, I am super excited for a phone with specs like this having a 4" screen. I've been checking online all day hoping we'd hear something but I assume it's coming (an announcement at least) in the next few days... I hope.

+1... Soon 4.7" will be the sweet spot and 5" or whatever will be the new 4.7"...

talked to my kid brother last night. He works at a store at the Supermall in Federal Way Washington. He told me folks are talking about the phones Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile have coming out but he has heard no mention of Verizon's Incredible 4G. I asked him why he thought that was. He said, simple Verizon is being to secretive no one knows about it yet.

4" screen and at $300? Man, disappointed. Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer for the Fighter to release. Shame though, I was really looking foward to this phone... I really like HTC's.

what do you guys think about the 1700mAh battery?

My DInc2 has a 1450 mAh battery and it will last me a day and a half with light use and all day with fairly heavy use. The size of the battery doesn't matter to me as much as how long it lasts. That's my concern.

Seeing how that is bigger than in the 4.3" rezound I think it should have pretty good battery life especially with the s4 processor which has lte on chip and should help with battery life also.

Haven't read much of this thread, eh?

Maybe the $300 price tag on the Droid Does website was intentional. Everyone is fine with the specs of the phone and all angry about the price. So then if they release the phone with a price around $150, everyone will be all happy and buy them up, not worrying about the screen size and whatever else.

Oh, and not sure why people are comparing the Inc4G to the Fighter, which seems to be a Razr-like Galaxy Nexus competitor.

My point was that this looks like HTC's last hurrah with Verizon.

On another point I am very disappointed by the screen's lower resolution.

Just curious, but what are you basing that on?

It would be stupid for HTC to forgo Verizon, they're one of, if not the largest mobile carrier in the US. If anything they're doing what they did past year. The Inc2 was released in April/ May and the Rezound ahead of the holidays. This will be their lower offering for Verizon like the Inc2 was last year. Then later this year we'll more than likely see a Verizon variant of the One X like the Evo 4G LTE was for Sprint.

If you meant Verizon was going to drop HTC, I doubt that'll happen either. Android & ios are they're 2 best sellers for smartphones. Out of the 4 android oems that they offer, if they had to drop one my money would be on LG. So far they've had the Ally, Revolution, & Spectrum, none of which lit up the sales charts. But with both of HTC's top tier phones of 2011 there was buzz ahead of the launch and strong launch day sales. I really don't think we have to worry about it.

Sigh... no announcement. Doesnt look like it'll make that April 26th release date. I really hope it comes out before the Galaxy s3 is announced.

Since there are no demo units and there hasn't been any training for the Incredible 4g, I'm thinking that it prolly won't come out on the 26th :/ What a letdown.

Looks like Big Red dropped the ball here. AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile will likely score some new customers.

And if the $299 is right or even $249 I'll pass anyway. $199 I would likely go for it. Especially if they want $30 just to upgrade.

this isn't the iphone.

i'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the # of customers lost to Att/tmo/sprint for the OneX is faaaaaaaaaaaaar outweighed by the number of Customers that VZW GAINS each day with the iphone.

I think he meant the growing trend of verizon getting a lower number of top-tier phones. Verizon used to lead the other carriers, but not anymore. That's gonna sour some customers as they get off their 2 year contracts. Also, motorola has started to irk a lot of people with the bionic delays, and the razr/maxx debacles.

Stop in a Verizon store and grab a Droid Pro. It is almost the exact same size as the Inc4G, but the HTC will be a tad taller. That's the phone I just came from and its a perfect size IMO. Very compact and thin, but still easy to hold in both hands when typing and not too crazy thin like the Razr.

Have you seen the LG Lucid, I think that's probably the closest to what to expect the Inc4g should feel. I just bought that for my Mom and she loves the form factor.

what do you guys think about the 1700mAh battery?

I think it should be adequate. So far the One S reviews say the battery life is pretty good so I'm hoping it would be the same for the Inc4g.

So here's some more speculation: The original Droid Incredible released on April 26th, the Droid Incredible 2 released on the 28th, and now the new Droid Incredible 4G will release on the 30th? It would follow a 2 day different pattern every year.

Possible, I read something a while back that HTC is becoming reluctant to mod their phones so much like they do for carriers like Verizon. Plus, because of the modifications that the carriers want are so extensive, whenever Google puts out an Android update, HTC has to test it, then the carrier needs to test it and it takes "forever" for the phones to get updated.

VZW usually releases phones on Thursdays but maybe this one will be the exception. :)

The Rezound was released on a Monday, so it's completely possible that this phone could release any day of the week. But say it were to release next Thursday, that's when the Samsung Galaxy s3 will be announced, so it makes it unlikely that they would release a phone the same day the S3 (and presumably other Samsung phones) is announced. The next Thursday after that would be the 10th of May. Would they really wait another two weeks to release this phone? I sure hope not.

I am disappointed with Verizon's lack of coverage or any info regarding this phone. With a release imminent why are they so damn secretive?
