Verizon is now being a pain...They can't tell you when the phone is coming out plus they are going to screw you/us over their new proposed data plan.

I don't think this will go into effect until they come out with the family data share plans. No details have been released on it yet. Hopefully the Inc4G comes out before the share plan is officially rolled out. I was going to wait a while before getting the Inc4G but now I will as soon as possible if I can stay unlimited.

What if you are single? I use 5GB/month. If Verizon wants to charge me $20/month more to use a 4G phone in an area that doesn't have 4G service I certainly won't upgrade. Not that it matters. I have a year to my upgrade. :/

Verizon rep told me these are just rumors and nothing is confirmed. I"m 99% sure that's spin, but that's what they told me. They also said that they have no date on the DInc 4G and that we should take it up with HTC since they're the OEM. Good times.

They can use whatever excuse they want but this has everything to do with the new iphone getting LTE this fall. They will get millions who want it and Verizon found a way to make more money out of the consumer.

I have been with them for 11 yrs and this puts a bad taste in my mouth. Verizon is getting so greedy they will end up losing their best valued customers.

ive been with vzw since it was GTE back in '95. while i hoped vzw would do things differently, their ultimate goal is to make money, so i get it. do i like it? nope, but i can take my business elsewhere if it gets to that point.

US HTC phones circumvent Apple’s patents - SlashGear

Let's hope this is true.....

US HTC phones circumvent Apple’s patents

So we can probably assume they'll do the same for the Dinc4G. Anybody want to take a wack at the next release date? If the rebate form is anything to go by, it should be released next week. But we honestly won't know when this phone will be released til they decide to announce it, which could be anytime in the next month. The whole issue with the customs could have delayed this phone another week, so we should probably see it by the 31st, but things could change. If the unlimited data grandfathering ends before this phone comes out, I'm just going to go ahead and get a Nexus.

My mom is a telecom manager and has a Verizon corporate rep so I had her ask her rep when the release date is. She said stores will get the phone on may 17th! No word on price yet. I'll upload a screenshot of the email when I get into work for the non believers

Any word if the stores got them in today? Anyone want to guess on the release date?

This is my guess. If big red is going to force everybody to a data share plan when upgrading to a LTE device, they won't release any phone until they have that data share program in place. JMO! I'm sure they figure a lot of org Inc and Inc2 users want this phone so get the data share program in place and then release the Inc 4G and make all of us give up our unlimited data.

That would be really really greedy of them. I'll be upgrading to a Nexus if this happens. I really would like this phone, but it's not worth giving up my unlimited data.

The shared data plans are likely months away. There is zero chance they'll hold a phone off for it.

I stopped by a local VZW store this morning and they said they were supposed to get them in their next shipment which was supposed to arrive yesterday, but didn't. They are hoping to get it today. There were 2 Incredible 4g's listed in that shipment.

You are probably right, and I hope you are. But I would like to know if you upgrade to a LTE device before this shared data plan will they allow you to keep your unlimited. Time will tell I guess.

As per the quoted article, they will force people off in a couple years after it is implemented. At least that is how I understood it.

That would be insanely evil. Like, guys in the back room twirling their mustaches and plotting to take over the world evil. Also, incredibly believable.

Update: Nothing left to see here people, please move along. The 4g has capacitive buttons, but my premise is still valid :)

I predict ladies especially will like this phone. Smaller size.

Does this device have buttons or just the display? If no buttons, the nav bar takes up about .3", which means a usable display of 3.7". This also moots the display resolution some, since the nav bar is using some.

IMO, using display-only for ICS should be with 4.3" or larger displays.

Im hoping it isnt delayed another month. That would be a pain. They have to fix the software on every unit they've produced so far so we don't know how long that'll take.

They shouldn't have to pull each phone and change them. All they'd need to do is have an OTA ready so when they go to activate the phone the update will download right away.

So, when these phones are root accessed this disputed feature COULD be returned to the phone? Seems FRUIT-less. :trytofly:

It's a BS patent to begin with. Apple somehow got a patent on clicking a phone number on a web page and it calling that number. It's ridiculous that they could get a patent on such a thing in the first place.

Ugh. I REALLY need a new phone and everything else out there right now is in some way flawed.

From inferior cameras(razrs, nexus) to antenna problems(nexus) to low battery life (rezound, spectrum)...

I know it's reported that the One series is stuck at customs... can anyone confirm if the Incredible 4G shipments have even hit America yet? I know some of you have sources, see what you can dig up? Hoping THIS Thursday I can have a new phone!

I'm 99% positive that the Dinc 4G is going to have the ability to click on a link and it call that phone number. So it's probably blocked too and if not, it will be.

You WILL be able to click and have it dial. It just wont bring up a menu of choices like "save to contacts, Copy, Dial, Send Number".
Email addresses will go to send an email. No other choices like listed above either.
That is the Patent in question.
