Hey guys,

I got a $100 off dads and grads email yesterday...it says its off any 4g phone with 2 year agreement. Ends June 17th...so that makes the Incredible 4g arriving after the 17th.

But i wonder if this can be applied to the S3...I will be calling tomorrow.

My email says 100 off any Motorola 4g phone. Hmmm. Maybe they know I'm eying the 4g3 dinc.

Well I'm feeling very comfortable that this is happening real soon. I think I'll take my protective case off and go naked for the last days. Anyone else?

I didn't even think verizon officially confirmed this phone existed.

Yes they did - the official press release is still on the HTC web site - this is not an HTC Merge repeat. They announced and showed it at CTIA. It's entirely possible this is being caught up in the HTC One X/ EVO 4GLTE customs hold up. Since the phone was never given an actual release date (and those other two were released (One X) and on pre-order (EVO 4GLTE) so maybe HTC was concentrating on those two and now it can work on getting the Dinc 4GLTE into the country so Verizon can announce a release date - hope so - want to get one before the new shared data plans kick in.

I want a new LTE phone with ICS. 'New' rules out Nexus; 'LTE' rules out a bunch; 'ICS' rules out all but the Samsung G S3 that I just preordered. I really don't want one, but I preordered so that I wouldn't have to downgrade my unlimited data to 2GB. I'd really prefer the Inc 4G (for things like its size, HTC build quality, and Sense over Touchwiz), so we'll see if it shows up before my return window closes, and what contract hoops VZW wants me jump through to swap for it.

Shouldn't getting a phone (or any discretionary purchase, for that matter) be a pleasant experience? I have no indication VZW thinks it should.:(

Well i mean you could wait for the announcement for when the shared data plans come out and decide then. Considering itll probably come out after both these phones come out, its only an unpleasant experience because you're worried about something that most likely wont happen. The inc 4g will also probably be out before the S3 unless more delays occur.

Perhaps just don't open it then and you can return it if the Inc4 works out for you!

This phone is going to have another Bionic situation. Probably wont see it til late this year, if at all. I'm getting the S3 most likely now, this is ridiculous. I hope Apple drowns in their patents.

Well, if that's the case I guess my Original DInc just got a new lease on life. I will not switch to another brand or a larger screen. I like a phone that actually fits in my pocket.

Lol. I love how filing a lawsuit makes people panic.

I'll get nexus if Inc 4g doesn't release but I won't panic because of this

I'm a little new here, and have been waiting for the Incredible 4g since the beginning of May now. I own the original Incredible and have been waiting to jump on my upgrade and this phone seems to fit the bill.

Can someone explain to me what the 'Bionic situation' is? And what the chances are of this phone becoming a complete dud?

And has anyone been hesitant to go for this phone now that the GS3 is coming out very soon? I was at a layover in Hong Kong and saw someone carrying this phone, and it looked ENORMOUS. I just can't imagine this phone fitting into pockets comfortably.

The "Bionic" situation they're referring to is what happened to the Droid Bionic phone. It was announced in January 2011 and was supposed to be released between April & May of that year. That came & went & still no Bionic. They issued a press release stating there was a problem & it was being redone. The main problem was the phone used an Nvidia Tegra CPU which doesn't play well with LTE (which is why any phone released overseas with one gets a Qualcomm processor if they're going to Verizon, AT&T, & now Sprint). When the phone finally showed up (September IIRC) it looked nothing like the phone when it was announced, and had quite a few issues. To makes things worse, just over a month later Moto rolled out the Droid Razr, which a lot of Bionic owners thought should've been the Bionic. So basically they announced the phone in January, problems occured, release was pushed back to September, phone was kinda buggy, & a month later they roll out a phone more advanced in almost every way.

I don't think the Inc4g will be a dud. If it had a larger screen, it would be comparable to the Galaxy S3. Think of it as a flagship phone in a smaller package since it seems anything with less than a 4.3" screen will be midrange or lower (except of course for the phone which we will not speak of here;)).
