Incredible as a Music Player

Is there any way to made programs like 3 look at the internal storage? I'm still using the supplied 2 GB SD and don't have time to get a new SD card until a month later.

My concerns with music playback is how the stock and 3rd party players deal with Album art and playlist.

HTC just needs to hire better programmers. This applies to 3rd party app developers like: MixZing, Zimly, Doubletwists, etc..

Or, I propose HTC does something very simple... Have an option in the menu of the player to flush/reset the music database cache. HTC engineers, are you reading this??? I just want reliable, consistent working album art.

so we can add the internal music database to friendstream and htc mail on the list of deeply, deeply flawed software that HTC released.

Also, how is everyone setting up their music directories? Meaning how is everyone getting their album art?

i copied a bunch of mp3 files over from my computer manually, and then let b-tunes go out and find all the artwork. it's the only reason i paid for it.

What would be the app most closely related to the itouch for music playing?

Also, how do I even get my mp3 files from my mac to the DINC, as well as already set playlists from itunes??

b-tunes is designed to be an exact replica of the ipod/iphone player.

ok, I got MixZing, the free version. I can't find an equalizer anywhere. Can someone please tell me if the eq. is in the free version or in the version for purchase?

Also, please tell me which folder in your SD card you are saving the music.

Thanks, sorry for being such a newb.

I got it and it works. thanks.... rd

Does btunes see the Incredible's internal 8gb drive?

No, it also doesn't notice your newley download MP3s from Music Junk right away , sometiems takes it a restart to get them. But after using all of them I like Music Junk and Stock the best because they have a good lock screen widget
and MusicZing is really good but it shuffles really stupid , and I hate that if I leave the player and try to go back it takes me to the front screen where I have to press now playing , it's just a hassle to navigate Btunes and stock are very simple

after getting the 32gb card I moved all my music to it

but as stated above by someone else, btunes won't find all my music :(

neither will doubletwist

tunewiki does!

and stock music player does too

but I want to use btunes b/c of the ui

arghrhgh

Just spent the weekend in Atlanta. Did a total of almost 17 hours driving. Between Meridian and the music I have on my SD card and Subsonic, I never even touched my Archos 605WiFi. The Incredible sound quality isn't as good as my Archos but it's good enough and there's something to be said about only having to be worried about one device.

Last.FM scrobbling on the fly like that is awesome too.

I am OK with a weak UI because I listen to the music more and use playlists and spend less time looking at the program. Definitely prefer my music on my phone than lugging around another device like a Zune.

Astro Player does and the EQ works well :)

Respectfully, I have a Gmin 402, Archos 5, N900 and Incredible. In regards to output from the 3.5mm jack:

1. Gmini 402 = Greatest sounding device ever
2. N900 = Amazing for a phone and due to Nokia adding a built-in line out amp in the 3.5mm jack. Droid has same chipset, but no amp & sounds weak.
3. Incredible= Good output, decent gain and sound depth / stage. Could use a little more on the highs, but still FAR better than the Droid or X.
4. Archos 5 = Due to the Euro sound cap that Archos adheres to, this is the weakest sounding, weakest gain, poor frequency ranged device I have ever owned, and I also had the Archos model before the 5- same result.

Ironic that the N900, Droid and Archos 5 all have the same chipset, but the Archos is killed due to the cap on gain/volume and sounds poor even compared to the weak sounding Droid.

I am very surprised you rate the Archos 5 over the Incredible. Incredible is pure audio bliss compared to the Archos 5. It sucks so bad, I deleted all of my MP3's off of the Archos and use it only for videos. A5 rocks for video :)

Astro Player does and the EQ works well :)

I tried Astro Player, didn't like it. I don't like white font on black background, I much prefer the look of btunes/ipod touch. also there was too much clicking around.

and as I went into btunes to describe what I liked about it, it magically started working! it can now see all my music. hopefully it doesnt stop working...

btunes does.

So does Mixzing, and I believe it does a better job of it.

I've spent some major time using Mixzing lately after dropping it since I got my Incredible. I must say, it has improved quite a bit since I last used it, so much that I bought the license. I love it. I just wish the developer would make it easier to access the song "now playing" while browsing and would make the music library background white with black text instead of black with blue text.

Also, to anyone who's still looking for a good solution for the pc side of things, Songbird is a phenomenal app. A little slow to start up, but syncs perfectly with my Incredible.

Anyone know of a player that lets you listen to songs by Artist? With the stock music player you can go to artist, then select play all, and it'll go continously through each artist and all their songs. It's nice for when you want to listen to your songs in different order from all tracks( i hate random).

Got my $50 dollar 32 gb card on the way and looking forward to not using the slow (but most full featured in my opinion) stock music player.

I know that Meridian gives you the ability to listen by artist. I would think that most players offer that since it's a pretty common thing.

3 aka cubed can be played and sorted by album, artist, and song and you can even have it sort albums by album title or artist.

After using all of the players people have suggested on this thread and some that are not posted, I think the best 3 players in my opinion are:

3 aka cubed
Mixzing
Stock

Each one has it's strong points, and each are lacking what the others may have.

Stock has simplicity and function but short on features.

Mixzing has alot of features, but still has some bugs to work out. When they perfect the EQ, they will be the one to beat.

3 aka cubed is still beta and getting better each update and imo has the best album art grabber as it can choose from native, online, and allows you to select from several sources and resolutions. I also prefer the 3 aka cubed UI over Mixzing at this point.

I have settled on 3 aka cubed for now. I am hoping the stock player will get some love soon and make it more competitive.

A perfect world would see Google taking the music player market more seriously and adding better drivers and software to Android to make it a better music player. Seems the me the hardware is there now to implement many of these features.

I'm pretty sure they all do, this is a pretty basic feature

btunes is easily my favorite - if you have used an Ipod Touch or Iphone music player, it mimics that. it's the easiest on the eye and has the best UI.
