Incredible Boot Animation

the "loading" folder was just an example, that can be named anything, or not included at all. most important is the "android" folder, reference to this "android" folder in "desc.txt", and the "android_audio.mp3" file name.
 
interested in trying this custom boot thing, quick question though, what size do the png files have to be? like if i make my own animation for the boot screen? and one more, can i rip an mp4 file to gif's, then convert to pngs for it?

it doesn't have to be png. not sure what all the format it supports, but it works with gif and jpg as well. But keep in mind that the larger the file size, the slower the animation.

also, the screen size is 480x800, so the resolution of your images would need to be that or smaller.
 
Yea i got all the way to where i type in the file name in cmd prompt. it tells me it is not a recognized command. C:\Users\Adam\Documents\Downloads\android-sdk_r05-windows\android-sdk-windows\tools what am i doing wrong here
 
Hey DK!

I have gone over and over your instructions trying to ad audio to the bootanimation file. If I make any changes to the desc.txt file, not only do I not get audio, but the animation will no longer work. I am using "textpad" and saving the file as a unix file, although I have tried a regular text file just to see if that was my problem.

When I make the changes and zip it up, I can't find the option in Winrar not to compress. I have tried "normal" and "store", but the animation still won't work. I don't know if that's the problem or not. When I reload the original bootanimation.zip file, it plays fine but has no audio.

Here is the file I'm trying to add audio to, if you have time, can you see what you can do with it? Just edit the desc.txt file the way it should be and zip it and send it back.

HTC Sync does nothing, i click look for updates and the incredible is nowhere to be found.

OMG Finally got this to work, now to find one i really like
 
Seriously, this is a lot of work to only happen when I power the phone off and back on...

I wish I could get the audio working in the one I'm using. I posted a link to it a few posts up this page. I know it's a problem with the "desc.txt" file, but I can't figure it out.
 
read the thread....installed the SDK...pushed the .zip file...rebooted my phone and BAMMM...a new boot screen!!!
