Root Incredible Help Please!

Well, it finally happened. My phone is nearly useless. I rooted the phone several months ago using Unrevoked (s-off), and have been using CM6/7 as my daily drivers. ROM Manager is not working, and I can't get any of my backups to install. ROM Manager says I need to update, but the market always says there is an error. Blah, blah, blah. Anyway, I need to find a down-loadable version of Froyo, or Gingerbread to install, and start the whole process over again. I would like to go back to complete stock without root and try again. I have tried to download the official Gingerbread RUU update, but Megaupload sucks and freezes 25% into the update every time. (I have tried at least 11 times tonight). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Using OG Dinc.

Not sure I want to use that. I am supposedly still rooted, and I am still running CM7. Not sure if the official update will take, and that update is plagued with problems anyway. I would really like to find the easiest way to unroot, and go back to maybe the 2.2 Froyo update and re-root with unrevoked.

Well all is not lost. I was able to flash CM7.1 from the SD card, so the phone is perfectly usable. I would like to have a stock recovery though. Currently looking for the official 2.2 update. I think the 2.3 update still has problems.

Thanks a bunch. I am downloading it now. I presume I can make a backup of my current ROM, install this file from the SD card, and flash back to my custom ROM saving the stock ROM as a backup as well. Either way I will give it a shot, and thanks again. It is nice to have a backup of the stock ROM.

Yes, that is correct. I'm not entirely sure why you would want to make a backup of a problematic rom, butt hat is completely possible.
