.::Incredible S Discussion Thread::.

I am really looking forward to this phone!

Some things I like about it include: 4" SLCD screen, possibly a world phone, better battery life than the Incredible, improved processor/ram and a front facing camera.

Seems like a winner to me.

4G capability is nice but it really is power hungry so there is a price for the speed. For me 3G works very well for most things and wifi is a great fall back.

There is a ton of posts about wanting dual core but I'm not seeing the need for it. I think the biggest selling points for me are a nice display, good battery life and decent android upgrades.

I will also point out that while I love HTC phones I would like to see them innovate a bit more with their hardware designs. They have done a good job with their Sense UI though.

Ranting done and back to waiting.

Proabably not a need for dual core now but I figure if you're in the market for a new phone it would be nice to be ahead of the curve with a dual core phone.

The following is a copy from another thread I posted earlier:

"What a subjective discussion this is! :-)

I have recently upgraded from a BlackBerry Bold 9000 to an HTC Incredible S (Vodafone UK). I think the HTC Incredible S is a fantastic phone - especially coming from a BlackBerry. Battery life is excellent (so far), screen size is phenomenal, albeit 'only' 0.3" smaller than the HD - but much bigger than my BlackBerry. The screen/video quality is superb, better than my - wait for it - BlackBerry. The phone is very responsive and slick; if my BlackBerry was any slower than it would be going backwards.

It all depends on where you're coming from. If you're moving from HTC to HTC then you may be dissapointed. I'm not."

really hoping this comes to vzw! My area will be one of the last to get 4g LTE, so this phone would be great for the next two yrs or so... :)

Well, it was spotted in their inventory system as the Incredible 2 so I would say its only a matter of time. It may even be a world phone which would be nice for travelers outside the US. I think the only major strike against LTE phones right now might be the intense battery drain they'll have. We will find out whats up with that real quick when the ThunderBolt is released.

All i know is i've been eligible for an upgrade since Feb, so its definitely testing my patience waiting for these phone releases! lol. Considered switching to Sprint for the EVO, but there's just too many good phones on the horizon, and the EVO is almost a yr old now.

I can see why you would be anxious coming from the LG Dare (which I did have), the Evo would be light years ahead of that Dare. I would hang tight, that ThunderBolt is just around the corner and will certainly be better than the Evo.

That a very interesting article! I have an HTC Incredible S and my experience with this phone has been excellent:-
  1. Fantastic battery life
  2. SuperLCD screen is excellent, but ALL superLCD screen are affected by sunlight/glare (this is not an HTC issue)
  3. Ultra-slim and ergonomically pleasant to hold and handle
  4. Location service works beautifully
  5. Video player does the job brilliantly
Highly recommended!

Interesting read. I wonder why the reviewers weren't that happy with the battery life. Does anyone know of a android smartphone that excels when it comes to battery life?
