Help Incredible Search? Not so far...

I'm a long-time palm user, and a very new Android convert! But as a palm user, I've enjoyed the ability to search everything on the palm...notes fields, addresses, etc., as well as names and phone numbers. So no matter what piece of information you recall about something, there is a way to find it. Is there a way to do this with Android? So far, the only thing I've been able to find is a not-much-downloaded app called "Aurora". It says it searches everything, but does not appear to do that, especially not the notes field where I store tons of stuff. Mostly Aurora searches the web. I'm an old fart, and my memory is not what it used to be, so I need the search app to become my "brains in a box". Is there any help out there? Tell me there is an incredible solution I'm missing!
 
tvn300, try adjusting the search settings first; that may help.

menu>settings>search>searchable items

Make sure what you want to search is checked. I had this issue when using 3banana notes and it wasn't checked in the search settings. After changing, the stock search bar will find everything.

Doesn't appear to seacrh the notes field even if "people" is enabled.

My impression was that the OP was looking for the ability to search the contents of the notes field in contacts.

Could have misunderstood.

It does offer search of company and notes fields, and should be comfortable to Palm users ;)

OP here, yes, I'm trying to access the notes field in the contacts. I checked the search settings, and it only allows for checking the "people" box or not; I have it checked, so it does not check the notes field. I tried the gesture search too--no luck. Any other ideas?
