I had the same problem with DInc 2.1. Compared the countdown timer to the second hand on my writstwatch: The time was most certainly losing seconds. A minute there took some 55 seconds. Stopped using it and started using a timer called 'Stopwatch.'
Version 2.2 fixed the timer, but at a high price: Charging the battery went from about 1% charge per minute to 0.33% charge per minute.
